Copper is a rich and beautiful material. Although artists love to use it for its gorgeous, elegant appeal, copper is inherently more expensive and temperamental than aluminum and steel, and the precautions that must be taken make it even more costly to create artwork from.

Copper and its alloys have been used throughout the ages for artistic pursuits. Due to the metal’s unique physical properties, it can be manipulated into various shapes, designs and structures of all sizes, and it looks great as art on walls !

Few options for wall décor can effectively compete with a gorgeously classy, artistically flamed and patina’d copper panel !

The duration of time under flame determines the color as the copper shifts through several predictable stages of color transformation. The colors are further altered by using the flame to consume oxygen near the surface of the metal. This gives the artists more control over the color transformation process by preventing the oxygen from further changing the color dynamics.

Colors and patterns are made, then the metal is cooled with a fan. After cooling the artist begins again with a new layer of flame painting. The varying levels of heating and cooling yield a variety of colors in the design. Once the background colors, shapes, and details are made to the artist satisfaction, the final piece is sprayed with acrylic urethane that preserves the one of a kind colorful design.

The fire’s spirit is united with the soul of pure copper.
The copper’s transformation is ethereal.
